So here's my car... it's not as bad as it could be I guess. The problem is that the hood scrunched and pretty much killed my radiator. That's like $500. No biggie...sorta. But I couldn't get that fixed until I fixed the support beams that hold it at a body shop. That and the hood and bumper are what would break me so it was decided that I had to move on with my life. I cleaned everything out last week and have been looking for a car.
I found one. I only had $2000 to spend so it's obviously not my dream car (2005 GTI turbo 1.8 which is what I happened to find on craigslist for just under $10,000 cause it had a reconstructed title... 24k on it. Damn... it was so hot...)
It's a '97 Saturn SC2. 125k. Silver, black leather interior, power windows/locks, sunroof, tinted glass, cruise control, and anti-lock brakes. All features I've never had and always wanted (with the exception of anti-lock brakes... they scare me and I've never had a good experience with them. But I've accepted the fact that in this day in age, I don't have much of a choice).
I called the guy last night and he and my parents made arrangements to check it out today at 10am. My parents got there and the guy and the car weren't there. The son came out and said it was on a test drive. When the owner came back, he told them he thought that it was us that took the car out. He felt bad so when the people came back, he started to try and sell them another car while my parents took mine out for a test drive. It was great. The only issue was the crack in the windshield that apparently wouldn't pass inspection. So the guy said he'd split the difference (about $250) with my dad and it was ours. YAY!!
So on Monday, my mom's getting the plates from the Accord in our driveway transfered to this car (cause my plates on the Mazda aren't transferable. It's quite sad actually cause they're green plates and apparently those aren't able to be transfered anymore cause they be OLD. :( So no more 406 ABE for me). Then on Tuesday while they're at work, my parents are having the glass people come out and replace the glass. Wednesday morning, Katie's coming out to get me and bring me back to get my car! WOOT! I have to be back by 2:30 (ugh) but I'm super psyched! And I get to see Katie on top of it all!

My peach station wagon was a salvaged title, too--lasted me 6 or 7 years. depends what went wrong in the first place, i suppose. :-)
(in other news, this thing seems to know my name and i have no idea why)
miss you! sorry to hear about the crash...but at least you had a good find after!
